CAT SHOW
We have visited cat Shows regulary during more than 25 years

About showing a cat
Throughout the year, cat shows are held, each with its own procedures. However, the ultimate goal is to win in one’s class, where males, females, juniors, and kittens compete against each other. In the final panel, the winning cats from each class face off, with the ultimate winners being crowned Best in Show.
What makes cat shows so enjoyable is the camaraderie among exhibitors, creating strong networks and lasting friendships.
Not all cats are show cats. Most cats, however, have the temperament for showing and enjoy the adventure. The fact is, the Norwegian Forest Cat is an ideal companion due to its wonderful temperament.
The Companion Cat
Most buyers are looking for a companion cat, and as breeders, it’s incredibly fulfilling to provide new family members to loving homes. For instance, one of our buyers has, over the years, adopted (I believe) 12 cats from us, replacing those who have passed due to old age. This fosters trust and lifelong friendships.
Exhibition Classes
In addition to individual competitions, there are other categories such as Best Breeder, Best Sire, Best Dam, Ltter classes, and numerous other awards like Best Club Cat, and so on.
S*Just Catnap’s has earned Best in Show awards as a breeder, owner of a cat, and breeder of cats who, up until 2012, had won approximately 500 BIS awards. Although we no longer keep statistics, as of 2025, we estimate that over 1,000 Best in Show honors have been achieved. Thanks to all Justcatnap cat owners.
