About the Cattery
S*Just Catnap’s* is a FIFe breeder and a member of the Swedish Federation SVERAK, adhering to its rules and procedures..

About our breeding
S*Just Catnap’s Cattery started with a few exhibitions in 1998. The cattery name was registered in 1999, and since then breeding has been conducted with a couple of litters per year. Successful breeding and advancing the development of the breed require extensive knowledge. The Norwegian Forest Cat breed has evolved over the years, and it was only relatively late that this particular breed was established as its own. Personally, we are committed to preserving the original characteristics while also keeping up with the breed’s development.
The cattery is located in a small village about 30 kilometers north of the city of Umeå in northern Sweden. We are close to the sea and enjoy a scenic environment with abundant wildlife, especially in spring and autumn when migratory birds are active. Our neutered cats can roam outdoors if they wish, as there are no traffic dangers. Breeding cats and younger cats remain indoors.
The cattery is run by Kerstin Kristiansson with support from cattery supporter Lennart. Our daughter, Mia, is also an owner and registered with the cattery. Currently, family life with small children takes up most of the time.

Kitten sales
Our kittens can move to their new homes at the earliest when they are 14 weeks old. By this time, they are fully vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped for identification. The kittens come with a pedigree and have been vet-checked before leaving.
For kittens that will be moving abroad, a passport and rabies vaccination are generally provided. These kittens are ready a bit later, usually not earlier than 16 weeks of age. For more details about exported cats, see the link on the homepage.
Booking rules
Kittens can be booked only after they are 6 weeks old. This is the earliest point when they can be included in our cattery insurance in the insurance company Sveland, which can transition to an individual insurance policy without a further health check at the time of transfer. Additionally, as a breeder, I can assess by this time if the kitten has developed normally.
If interested, you can reserve a kitten before 6 weeks old, which is then marked as “interest shown” if serious contact is established or “On hold” in the table on the kitten page.
When a kitten is booked, a deposit is paid. Upon full payment, the kitten is marked as “Sold.”
We comply with SVERAK’s regulations and consumer rules for the sale of pet cats.

Cat Shows
Exhibitions are an important part of the breeding process. They help establish connections and are also crucial for qualifying breeding cats. In the past, exhibitions were a priority, but now they occur less frequently. The long distances to exhibitions in northern Sweden, as well as to locations in central and southern Sweden, pose challenges.
For exhibition details, see links on the homepage under “Shows,” “Big titles,” and “Legends.”
